He received his education in the Newport School system and matriculated to the University of Rhode Island where he graduated in June 1974 with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering. He moved to Allentown, PA to begin his career at PPL Electric Utilities (formerly Pennsylvania Power & Light Co.) in August 1974. In September 2008, Pastor Jenkins began a master’s degree program of study as a part-time student at Palmer Theological Seminary in Philadelphia.
He began his ministry at Second Baptist Church in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Jerry J. L. B. In 2005 Pastor Hailey appointed Pastor Jenkins to the position of Executive Pastor, a position in which he presently serves. In addition to preaching assignments, Pastor Jenkins oversees UBC’s ministries and daily operations.
