Senior Pastor Benjamin T. Hailey, Sr.

Pastor Hailey provides pastoral leadership through preaching, teaching, worship planning, administration, and supervision of pastoral and administrative staff.  He serves as the visionary and chief developer of the church's image and outreach.  He has led Union through a total restructuring of adminstrative operations, and style of worship.  Under his leadership, Union has grown from 150 members to a high of over 1000.  He has added 23 ministries to meet the growing needs of a growing church.  He has had plans devloped and drafted for a new multi-milion dollar facility. 
Pastor Hailey graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a Liberal Arts Degree in Pre-Personnel and Industrial Relations.  He has studied at Liberty Bible College (Liberty University), and Palmer Theological Seminary.

Pastor Hailey began his  ministry at the New Friendship Missionary Baptist Church of Dallas Texas, being licensed to preach in September of 1990, and ordained in 1997.  In May of 1997 he answered the call to the Friendship Baptist Church of York, PA and served that church until July of 2003. During his tenure, the Church was blessed with spiritual and numerical growth. 
 
In July  of 2003, Pastor Hailey answered the call of the Historic Union Baptist Church of AllentownPennsylvania, where he is the second Pastor in the history of the 71 year old Church. 
 
Pastor Hailey was elected President of the Pennsylvania Baptist State Convention on October 15th 2009 and served until October of 2013.  President Hailey brought together all three componants of the Convention ( Parent Body, Congress & Youth & Young Adults) in one single Annual Session for the first time in 121 years in 2013.  He has served as the President of the Black Ministers Association of York County, on the Board of Directors of the Lehigh Valley United Way, as Founding President of the Mesquite, TX branch NAACP, and as Area Vice Moderator of the Central Baptist Association.  
Pastor Hailey's goal in ministry is to affect lives with the Gospel, so that Christ will be formed in persons, and their lives will be a reflection of His will.  His spiritual gifts are in the areas of adminstraiton, teaching, pastor, preaching, and helps.

He believes that for every situation, "God is Able!"
